Lake Constance Cycle Path
On the way through 3 countries on the Swabian sea
Spend your cycling holiday on Lake Constance and discover the three-country region around the lake on a round trip. On a 273 km long, mostly flat bike path, the Lake Constance cycle path always leads you along the shore, past beautiful places and numerous sights.
Due to the proximity to the lake you can always take a break to cool off with a dip in the water. Incidentally, Lake Constance is not just one but three waters: the Überlinger See, the Untersee and the Obersee. Starting point of the Bodensee cycle path is the Konzilstadt Konstanz, which lies directly on the border to Switzerland. Explore the largest city on Lake Constance on a city tour of the historic old town, with its picturesque streets and facades. You can explore Konstanz but also by bike, the city with its well-developed bicycle roads and a bicycle bridge as the cycling capital on Lake Constance. Worth seeing are also the harbor figure "Imperia", the landmark of Konstanz, the town hall and the two city gate towers, the Rhine Tower and the Powder Tower.
At the beginning of the route you cycle through picturesque villages along Lake Constance to Stein am Rhein. The medieval town is located in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen. Plan your visit to the Museum Lindwurm during your stay. On the way you drive past the pile dwellings of Unteruhldingen, the former imperial city of Überlingen and the town of Meersburg, surrounded by vineyards, and on this way you reach the Zeppelin town of Friedrichshafen. Here, a visit to the Zeppelin Museum is almost inevitable. Next, the bike tour takes you to the Lake Constance metropolis Lindau. The old town of Lindau is located on the island of the same name and is definitely worth a visit.
From Lindau it is only a few kilometers by bike to Bregenz. Marvel at the state capital of Vorarlberg from the 1,064 m high Pfänder, which you can take the cable car up. Through the nature reserve of the Rhine delta, the old port town of Rorschach and the fishing village of Romanshorn, the Lake Constance Cycle Path finally leads you back to Constance.
