Both culture and nature lovers will get their money's worth on this bike tour. A breathtaking mountain panorama accompanies you most of the bike course. Not for nothing is the Tauern cycle path after the imposing high mountain region Hohe Tauern, at the same time also a national park, named. From a distance you can also admire famous mountains, such as the Hochkönig or the Großglockner. Start of the bike tour is either in Krimml or in Zell am See. The luggage transport will be taken over for you.
So you can fully concentrate on all the sights along the Tauern cycle path. In Krimml you should definitely pay a visit to Europe's largest waterfalls. From a drop of 380 m, the Krimmler waterfalls thunder into the depth and are thus among the most impressive natural spectacles in the world. The village of Zell am See is not far from Krimml. In good weather, you should definitely treat yourself to a short break and use the time for a swim in Lake Zell, one of the purest swimming lakes in Austria. Through the Saalachauen the bike tour takes you to the cultural metropolis Salzburg, the birthplace of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the summer months, the Mozart City will be transformed into a unique stage for several weeks as part of the Salzburg Festival.
Along the Salzach, the cycle tour continues to Burghausen, where at 1051 m the longest castle in the world is located. From Burghausen you reach the Inn-Salzach estuary and drive through the Bavarian-Austrian border town of Braunau directly into the bird and nature reserve Unterer Inn. If time permits, then you should treat yourself to some relaxing hours in the spa town of Bad Füssing. The aim of the Tauern Cycle Path is the Bavarian three-river city of Passau, known for the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz.
